This patches are against 2.6.8.1 . They are numbered in order to be applied to a Mandrake 10.1 2.6.8.1-20mdk kernel. But they can apply to vanilla kernel or other distros. - The nolapic patch concerns only kernels built with APIC as in Mandrake. Without this patch the nolapic lilo option doesn't work and without it the Sony laptop doesn't power off. - Alps patch make the Alps touchpad be recognized. - the sonypi patches make the sonypi module resuming correctly, both with standard swsusp and swsusp2. They were against 2.6.10 but they work on 2.6.8.1 with three additional patches: DB20_sonypi-268-269.patch (to revert to 2.6.8) DB20-1_sonypi-rpowoftwo-kernel.patch (missing kernel macro) DB21_sony-kfifo.patch (kfifo introduced in 2.6.10) - ACPI patches are latest (final) ACPI patches against 2.6.8.1 (slightly modified because Mandrake patches already had some). S4 suspend to disk will work. S3 suspend to ram doesn't resume correctly (you need a 2.6.9 kernel). - mki_adapter and Kernel-win4lin patches concern Win4Lin. Nicolas Brouard November 2004
